1. Information We Collect and Process
MarginAX processes information necessary to provide merchants with profitability analytics, reporting, advertising integrations, expense tracking, and AI-powered business insights.
1.1 Shopify Store Data
When you install MarginAX on a Shopify store, we may access information made available through Shopify APIs according to the permissions granted to MarginAX. Depending on the functionality used, this information may include:
- Store information and settings
- Orders and order-related information
- Products and product variants
- Sales and revenue information
- Discounts
- Refunds and returns
- Shipping-related information
- Market and country-related order information
- Inventory information
- Product cost information where available
- Other commerce information required to calculate and analyse business performance
MarginAX is designed to process only the information reasonably necessary to provide its functionality. We aim to avoid processing directly identifying customer information where it is not necessary for the operation of the service.
2. Information Provided by Merchants
Merchants may provide additional business information directly to MarginAX. This may include:
- Product costs
- Operating expenses
- Shipping expenses
- Return and uncollected-shipment costs
- Advertising expenses
- Other business expenses
- Business settings
- Integration settings
- Other information entered into MarginAX
This information may be combined with Shopify store information to calculate profitability, margins, expenses, P&L reports, and other business metrics.
3. Advertising Platform Integrations
MarginAX may allow merchants to connect supported third-party advertising platforms, including services such as Meta Ads and Google Ads. When a merchant voluntarily connects an advertising account, MarginAX may receive information authorized through the relevant platform, which may include:
- Advertising account information
- Advertising spend
- Campaign information
- Campaign performance metrics
- Other advertising analytics required to provide the integration
MarginAX uses this information to help merchants understand advertising expenditure alongside sales, expenses, and profitability. Connecting advertising platforms is optional. Merchants may disconnect supported integrations through MarginAX or through the relevant third-party service.

We may process information to:
- Provide and operate MarginAX

MarginAX does not sell merchant store data or customer personal information.
5. AI-Powered Insights
MarginAX provides artificial intelligence features designed to help merchants better understand their business performance. When AI functionality is used, relevant business information may be processed to generate business performance analyses, explanations of financial metrics, identification of trends or anomalies, observations about costs and profitability, and recommendations and suggested actions.
AI-generated content is provided for informational and business decision-support purposes. MarginAX does not guarantee that following an AI-generated recommendation will result in higher revenue, increased profit, reduced costs, or any other specific business outcome. AI-generated information does not constitute financial, accounting, investment, tax, or legal advice. Merchants remain responsible for evaluating recommendations and making their own business decisions.
6. Shopify
MarginAX integrates with Shopify and may process information provided through Shopify APIs according to the permissions granted by the merchant. Information obtained through Shopify is used only as necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and improve MarginAX and its merchant-facing functionality.
MarginAX follows applicable Shopify requirements regarding the processing of merchant and customer information. Shopify requires applications distributed through the Shopify App Store to support mandatory privacy requests, including requests relating to access to customer data, deletion of customer data, and deletion of shop data.
7. Third-Party Service Providers
We may use trusted third-party service providers to operate and maintain MarginAX. These may include providers of:
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure
- Database and data storage services
- Artificial intelligence services
- Security and monitoring services
- Analytics and error reporting
- Email and communications
- Customer support
- Advertising platform integrations
These providers may process information only where necessary to perform services on our behalf and subject to applicable contractual, privacy, and security obligations. Some third-party services may process information in countries outside the country in which the merchant is located.
8. Disclosure of Information
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to provide MarginAX and requested integrations, work with service providers acting on our behalf, comply with applicable laws or legal obligations, respond to valid legal or regulatory requests, protect the rights, property, or security of MarginAX, our merchants, their customers, or others, and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our terms.
We do not sell merchant or customer information to advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties for their independent marketing purposes.
9. Data Minimisation
MarginAX follows the principle of data minimisation. We aim to collect and process only the information reasonably necessary to provide the functionality requested by merchants. Where analytics can be provided without directly identifying an individual customer, we aim to avoid unnecessary processing of identifying information. Access to information through Shopify and other integrations is limited to the permissions required for supported MarginAX functionality.
This approach is consistent with Shopify's protected customer data requirements, which require apps to request the minimum data necessary for their functionality.
10. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide MarginAX, maintain requested integrations, fulfil legitimate operational requirements, maintain security and prevent abuse, resolve disputes, enforce applicable agreements, and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
Retention periods may differ depending on the type of information and the reason for processing it. When information is no longer reasonably required, we take appropriate steps to delete, anonymize, or otherwise securely dispose of it, subject to applicable legal requirements and legitimate backup retention periods.
Following the uninstall of MarginAX, Shopify may send MarginAX a mandatory shop data deletion request. Shopify currently sends the shop/redact request 48 hours after an app is uninstalled, and applicable compliance requests generally must be completed within 30 days unless retention is legally required.
11. Data Security
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organisational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, unauthorized disclosure, alteration, loss, misuse, and destruction. Security measures may include encrypted connections, authentication mechanisms, access controls, infrastructure security, monitoring, and restrictions on access to production systems.
However, no internet-based service, transmission method, or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.
12. International Data Processing
MarginAX is operated by Noosh Ltd. in Bulgaria, European Union. Some of our service providers may process or store information in other countries, including countries outside the European Economic Area. Where required by applicable law, we take appropriate measures designed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal information transferred internationally.
13. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable privacy legislation, you may have rights concerning your personal information. These may include the right to:
- Request access to personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of personal information
- Request restriction of certain processing
- Object to certain processing
- Request portability of information where applicable
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
Shopify also requires public applications to support standardized privacy requests relating to customer data. To submit a privacy-related request, contact us at support@marginax.com. If your request concerns information processed by MarginAX on behalf of a Shopify merchant, we may need to coordinate with the relevant merchant to fulfil the request.
14. Merchant Choices
Merchants can control certain MarginAX processing activities by:
- Disconnecting optional advertising integrations
- Changing supported application settings
- Removing manually entered information where functionality permits
- Uninstalling MarginAX through Shopify
- Contacting us regarding access, correction, or deletion requests
Uninstalling MarginAX revokes the application's ongoing authorization to access the merchant's Shopify store through that installation.
15. Cookies and Website Technologies
The MarginAX website may use cookies or similar technologies necessary for website functionality, security, session management, performance, and analytics. Where required by applicable law, non-essential cookies or similar technologies will be used subject to appropriate notice or consent.
16. Children's Privacy

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to MarginAX functionality, new integrations or services, changes to our data processing practices, legal or regulatory requirements, and security or operational changes. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. Where required by applicable law, we may provide additional notice of material changes.
